These little chips are like miniature SSD drives for your electronics. When you don’t need something with as much storage as a micro SD card, but an EEPROM is too small, SPI (or QSPI) Flash chips give you on-the-order-of megabytes, with little cost and complexity. We use these chips all the time on our CircuitPython boards to let folks store code and assets like animations, fonts, images, configurations, audio clips, etc! A great way to add datalogging storage as well.
That Raspberry Pi camera or display (CSI/DSI) connectors can sometimes get damaged, and it would be a shame to have to toss the whole thing! Maybe you got a little over-enthusiastic and She-Hulk’d out on the connector arms and broke it. We understand, it happens!
Stickvise PartLift holds thru-hole parts in place to free up your hands while you solder the legs. A simple yet useful tool to go along with your Stickvise or other PCB holder. It solves the annoying problem of soldering thru-hole parts that can slide down the PCB when its flipped over!
Behold, the ST LSM6DSO32: The latest in a long line of quality Accelerometer+Gyroscope 6-DOF IMUs from ST. This lil IMU is like a big sister to the LSM6DSOX, it has the same pin out and firmware – but the accelerometer component can go up to 32g instead of the normal 16g maximum.
If you’ve got a lot of wire-stripping to do, you may want to try out an automatic stripper/cutter! They are fantastic for stripping and cutting stranded and solid-core 24 or thicker AWG wires and ribbon cables. The tool has both metric (up to ~20mm) and imperial (up to 0.75″) measurements on either side, so you get all the precision with the secondary blade below the stripper.
What a cutie pie! Or is it… a QT Py? This diminutive dev board comes with our favorite lil chip, the SAMD21 (as made famous in our GEMMA M0 and Trinket M0 boards).
